My official K-pop merch collection! + tips on buying

Hello lovelies!

I should start thinking about fandom name… or is it too early? lol

Not too long ago I held a poll on my Twitter page (go follow me at @RantingRina if you haven’t yet!) about what next I should post on the blog after my return from hiatus announcement, and most votes went to showing my official K-pop merch collection! I mean, who doesn’t like seeing shelves full of albums and other possible merch? Amirite?

So let’s just dive into my K-pop collection! And I also will tell you some tips on how I purchase albums and official merchandise~

Officially coming back from hiatus + changes

It’s… been a while.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to make the reboot work the best for me, and it took me almost half a year and a couple of photoshop attempts to realize that I was probably trying to achieve the impossible, and that I didn’t have a clear image of what I wanted my blogging platform to be. So I took a longer break than I expected, and the anxiety that creeped in after that only delayed my return to blogging sphere even more.

My 8 most favorite K-pop albums of 2018

Hello!

After completing my Top 18 K-pop songs of 2018 list the other day, I thought that I can’t just leave out the album evaluations, and so, here’s my quick list of 8 most beloved albums of 2018. I must say, there are few EPs that impressed me more in its overall composition and completion than the included tracks on their own, so there will be titles you never saw coming because they weren’t on my mentioned Top 18 list.

Shall we dig in?

I… fell into a writing slump.

Hello there!

Yes, you read it correctly. I fell into a writing slump. But not a general slump when you just can’t produce any type of content.

I realized that these days I’m not really into urgently checking out all new K-pop releases in order to write reviews, especially after two, almost three packed months of all sort of songs and mini-albums. I’m not sure if anyone did a research study, but apparently all new blogs tend to fall into their first writing slump after 6 months of running their platform. That situation happened when I ran my previous blog, and this time my slump came a little bit later than I thought. Or, to be more precise, I forced myself to constantly write in order to avoid that creativity block. But, as you can see, it still came to me, and I guess, I have to admit my surrender.

Quick ranting (short hiatus)

Hi guys!

I haven’t written about it yet, but probably you’re aware that Double You concert in Jakarta that was supposed to take place on May 12th, has been postponed to “sometime next year”, thanks to both Mecima Pro and Pledis(appointment) entertainment.

As it was announced only a week before the show, it all caught fans off guard, and many of us already had their flights and accommodations arranged for that.

With the concert technically cancelled, I’ve been feeling very discouraged and upset, but due to other personal reasons it was impossible for me to cancel the trip, so that’s why I’m still departing tonight to Indonesia. At least I hope I’ll be able to enjoy the trip and bring some updates to my @rinatography Instagram account.

I will be back on May 21, see you then!

[Video] 1st Q&A session!

Hello!

It’s been almost a month since I’ve celebrated my 6th month anniversary, and to repay back all the support you’ve given me, I held a Q&A session!

Here’s the video of me answering all the questions I received through both Twitter and CuriousCat, and also find the answer to the last question in this post!

Rina’s Ranting Blog is 6 months old! (+ giveaway!)

Yesterday, on April 11, Rina’s Ranting Blog officially hit the 6 month anniversary mark!

It’s absolutely not easy to maintain a platform for a long period of time, even if for someone 6 months doesn’t seem a long time yet. Trust me, whenever you start doing something constantly, even small milestones feel like the biggest live achievements. Especially when it comes to projects filled with creativity (writing blogs including).

A letter to NU’EST.

Hello, dear NU’EST members: Aron, JR, Baekho, Minhyun and Ren!
I hope you’re all healthy and enjoying your time preparing for new round of promotions in respective places.

It’s been less than a year since I’ve re-discovered you, and I’ve never felt so many things as a k-pop fan of 10 years as I did within those 10 months.

Happy birthday to me! – Also Birthday streaming

It’s that time of the year again when you suddenly get older by one more year, and you keep being shocked at your new age.

Well, anyways, there are two special events on this day, February 13th:

  • It’s 5th anniversary to NU’EST’s reversal song “Hello” (여보세요), the song that the boys had hoped would give them their biggest achievement back in 2013, and finally GOT that love and appreciation in 2017. Better late than never.

  • It’s my 25th birthday! Although I still think I haven’t achieved much (compared to my reversal icons NU’EST), but I still feel happy that I lived up until today, fighting myself and the odds.
So in light of my birthday, I’ll be doing my very first YouTube livestream at 6:00 pm KST (it’s much easier to count from KST). Please tune in!

Happy birthday to me and NU’EST’s 여보세요!

[Experience] K-Wave 2 Music Festival in Malaysia!

Hi!

So I’m back from my short trip to Malaysia where I attended K-Wave 2 Music Festival, and I have so many things to share, but first I needed some rest because you know, being on foot for 48 hours with zero sleep was a completely terrible idea.

Anyways, let’s get straight into talking about my experience!
