My 8 most favorite K-pop albums of 2018

After completing my Top 18 K-pop songs of 2018 list the other day, I thought that I can’t just leave out the album evaluations, and so, here’s my quick list of 8 most beloved albums of 2018. I must say, there are few EPs that impressed me more in its overall composition and completion than the included tracks on their own, so there will be titles you never saw coming because they weren’t on my mentioned Top 18 list.

Shall we dig in?

18 K-pop songs that made my 2018

Well, hello there.

My end of the year has been pretty messy, and it affected my plans for a proper reboot very severely, I’d say. Nonetheless, I have made some major changes to this blog (which I’ll talk about in details in my future posts), but for now – let’s do some rankings!

Unfortunately, I couldn’t keep up with all releases for the second half of 2018, so my list is pretty much very biased towards acts I know from long before, and there are barely any new (as of, I’ve never talked about them) names. Usually I’d do rankings month by month, but somehow most of this year’s releases didn’t leave a deep impression on me, so instead of a long list I’ll be talking about 18 songs that made my 2018.

[Review] SEVENTEEN – Oh My! (YMMD is the best SVT album I’ve heard so far)

SEVENTEEN is back with their 5th mini album You Make My Day, and can we talk about how this is possibly THE BEST album they’ve released until today?

I became a casual SVT fan since the beginning of this year after I was totally blown away by Clap and, while was gearing for Thanks promotions, I did a [GOING THROUGH] Seventeen’s discography. I really like when a group establishes a style that’s easy to recognize, meaning when you listen to a song and think, “Ah! This is very Seventeen.” And this is exactly what You Make My Day is as well.

So let’s go and see what’s so good about this whole damn mini album?

[아주 작은 Review] SVT – BSS / Super Junior / Honey Popcorn

I hope I’ll be able to write one more episode of 아주 작은 Review after this one, considering how many releases will be this week, starting from Monsta X, Samuel, Hoya, TVXQ and ending with Stray Kids’ and LOONA Olivia Hye’s debuts. Let’s pray that I won’t be too overwhelmed with new songs, because April is gonna be even more hectic.

Today’s edition features SEVENTEEN’s special unit BSS, Super Junior for SM Station 2, and Honey Popcorn‘s debut.

Last week SEVENTEEN made their comeback with a special album (which is technically a repackage of Teen,Age), and I was thinking between writing a full review and just including in 아주 작은 Review segment. Well, as you can see, I ended up writing a full review, because there are a lot of things you can usually say about Seventeen’s music.

Although I won’t lie – it took some time for me to absorb the song.

[GOING THROUGH] Seventeen’s discography

Another new segment from me, I guess? I try to make my blog as versatile and diverse as possible, which brings me to an inevitable thing as checking out artists full discographies from time to time.

As someone who’s multifandom, discovering new artists is not a new thing. Sometimes people just listen to a couple of songs, sometimes they take their time to check out full discographies, and if I were to describe myself, I’d lie somewhere in between. My criteria for choosing an artist for full-scale check is pretty simple: I need to have at least 5 tracks on my playlist that I jam to constantly without break (trust me, 5 tracks per artist is already considered a lot when you’re multifandom).

So in episode 1 of Going through I’ll be checking out SEVENTEEN‘s full discography!
